All about Jagua and Henna

Jagua

What is it?

  • Jagua is a tropical fruit grown in Central and South America. Inside of the unripe fruit is an extract that has been used for centuries by indigenous people for medicinal purposes as well as body adornment.

  • The Jagua tree is believed to be the tree of life.

  • Jagua has scientifically been proven to have antibiotic functions.

Jagua Tattoos

  • The jagua ink will create a black/ blue color on the body replicating that of a real tattoo.

  • Once the product has been applied to the skin, it will take 24-26 hrs to fully oxidize and show up as its deep coloring.

  • Different parts of the body take the ink differently depending on how muscular the area is underneath etc.

  • Hands and Feet last the longest.

  • Your new tattoo will last between 1-4 weeks depending on how well you take care if it as well as where it is located on the body.

Aftercare

  • After about an hour of being applied, the Jagua will begin to peel off. Let it do its thing on its own time to make sure it stains the skin. Once you notice most of it peeling off, you can rub the excess away. Make sure to do it in the sink/ garbage as it will stain!

  • To ensure your new Jagua tattoo will last the longest, make sure to keep the area moisturized daily.

  • Avoid scrubbing the area in the shower as it will scrub off the layer of skin the Jagua is on.

  • Keep in mind, the more the area is in water, the faster it will wash off.

  • Avoid submerging the area in water for at least the first 24hrs.

Henna

What is it?

  • Henna comes from the leaves of a small tree grown in North Africa and many other regions.

  • Henna has been used for centuries due to its many healing properties. One example is its cooling properties helping to lower the blood temperature of those living in very hot places.

  • Henna is also a large part of many traditions such as India, used for part of their wedding rituals.

Henna tattoos

  • Henna has been used as body decor for over 5000 years

  • After 24 hrs of being applied, henna will leave a deep brown/ orange stain to the skin.

  • Depending on the placement of the henna as well as how well it is taken care of, it can last between 1-3 weeks.

After care

  • Leave the henna on for as long as possible to ensure the deepest color stain.

  • Once most of the product is peeling off, you can rub the rest away.

  • Moisturize the area daily to ensure it lasts the longest time possible.

  • Avoid scrubbing the area in the shower as doing so will scrub the layer of skin it has been applied to off.

  • Avoid submerging the area in water for the first 24hrs after being applied.
